Polyán Egyesület

The long term objective of the project is to promote nature friendly farming in Hungary, including the aspects of nature protection into land use practices. The direct objectives are to provide an operating, good example on such a natural land use as well as to improve the demonstrative character and services of this sample farm.
Direct target group of the project are those farmers, who are open to natural land use and extensive animal keeping. Indirect target groups are the population of smal rural settlements in general, leaders of agricultural policy and the population in general, as the potential market for healthy food products of extensive farms.

Project activities
Improvement of the demonstration character of the farm (infrastructural);
Organising demonstration events;
Organising training about the natural communication of animals;
Introducing the use of animal power into the operation of the Polyán farm;
Organising workshops about animal keeping, continuing the previously started consultation process. Preparing a practical guide for beginners in animal keeping;
Study about water retention on some suitable grazing areas of the farm;
Continuation of the genetic preservation program of the Carpathian Brown cattle;
Participation on professional events, shows, presentation of the Carpathian brown cattle;
Publicity work to present the results of the Polyán program.

Project implementation involves 6-8 volunteers and colleagues of the association.
