Summary:

The aim of our project is: to prevent the poor, mainly gipsy women in the Huszár-estate, to become prostitutes and to help them to integrate into the society. The 300 families of the neighbourhood, live in deep poverty and in ruinous flats. Every family is concerned with child poverty. Because of the poor education level, the lack of professions and earnings, the needs covered by social aids, child supports, usury and prostitution. With this project, we would like the women: to uprise the value of studying, to evolve a positive self image and health culture, to become able to make decisions and to know their rights. The project lies on 5 main pillars: club activities, health prevention, house economics, social work and expert change with the transmission of knowledge and good practices.

The project elements contribute: to get to know the direct and the indirect targetgroup, to evolve the conscious choice-making, to find other alternatives instead of being a prostitute, to evolve the prevention. The project also enables the social experts to extend their knowledge, and range of methods, by changing knowledge and practice.
The results of the project will be usable for the upcoming projects, and for the social workers working in other institutions. The project will be implemented by an interdisciplinar team to contribute to the improvement of the women’s social status.
