Igazgyöngy Alapítvány

The aim of the project is to strengthen and further develop an already existing model so that it can provide an adaptable solution to the problems of social groups living in deep poverty and segregation. The target groups are the inhabitants of the village Told, and among them, specifically the Roma people. The activities of the project will be integrated into the already implemented strategic developments, covering such areas that so far have been untackled due to lack of resources. Among the activities, we are planning to introduce programmes targeting self-sustenance, community development, expansion of knowledge, skills concerning sense of identity, tolerance and co-operation. The people involved are all inhabitants of Told, with special attention to Romas of big families. A significant element of the strategic development is to create and develop novel connections between the various branches and institutions involved, which will in general improve the quality of support work, Roma integration, and the sustainability of the project results. We hope to make an integral part of the institutional system what has helped our Foundation in achieving its aims, i.e. an atmosphere of trust and humane attitudes. For these purposes, organization development both in the case of the institutions and the various local communities is a crucial element.
