Summary:
The target of our project is introducing the Minnesota Model in the Debrecen Reformatory. This Model is one of the most effective treatment methods well-known from the field of addiction therapy. Our target group involves those youngsters in provisional detention or already in custodial sentence whose criminalization was influenced by alcohol or drug consumption.
Age range: 14-21 years.
Our activity is to get them acquainted with therapeutic group work. Our planned communication method is: cognitive behaviour therapy based on ventillation method using the Rogersian principles. The group runs on education, assertivity, self-recognition supplemented by books blueprints and films. Those promote familiarizing with the nature of the addiction, accepting disease-awareness and understanding the fact that total abstinence is the sole way to change lifeconduct. It helps to learn how to live together with the addiction in a constructive way and how to avoid slips or fall backs.
Persons involved the project: disadvantaged young people, recovering addicts, social workers.
Results of our tender are planned to be further applied on other fields of penalty implementation: our aim is to srengthen the civil presence from one side and on the other to have got accepted the possibilities of self help activity in frames of the closed facility circumstances.
