Summary:
As part of our project, „Lucky horseshoe”, we would like to create an art troupe at the biggest segregated housing district in Nyíregyháza. We would like to include the multiply disavantaged Roma children and youngsters in the project. The name of the art troupe will be Lucky horseshoe Art Troupe. The idea of the project came from the children, who live in the disctrict. The implementation of the project was their cherished dream. The creation and the long-term operation of the troupe is in harmony with the goals and plans of the Foundation.
As part of the program, we would like to include 25 children from the Huszár housing district in the activities. They are indispensable to achieve the goals of the project, and as a result of the project their personality and behavior will change is a good way.The program’s goal is to make the participants achieve integration through the development of their competences, to help them break out from the segregated life conditions, and to provide them with opportunities, which they are happy to comply with and they are also talented in the area.
With the program our intention is to make the majority of the society to be more sensible. We would like to achieve this through the presentation of plays. We would also like to create two plays, which are fabricated and choreographed by the children. The plays’ main theme is centered around poverty, Roma culture, and tradition. The themes are presented through music, dance and theatrical perform.
