Summary:
The Dialóg Egyesület has been continuously arranging community meetings and other programmes for 3 years. Together with the social, educational and religious institutions of the area, the project aids the inhabitants of the community by empowerment and community social services, mostly relying on funds and volunteer work. We aim to harness the labour opportunities that nowadays often stay hidden in society to solve social work and local problems.
The programme relies on the locals for volunteer work based on their knowledge and competence, and also provides opportunities to expand those. We operate clubs for the residents of Avas hill, paying attention to mental health care, offering debate groups. Furthermore, our aim is to provide the local youth with the opportunity to master social work, drawing their attention on how to act based on their spontaneous personal decisions, supported by positive example.
The aim of the trainings is to help the community develop its own experts, who are well-prepared to support the social initiatives, and help them hone their skills by popularizing new methods of social work. Our long-term goal is to link active local members with institutions to form a regional and professional network.
