The number of diabetic patients in Hungary is growing rapidly (about 750.000) and same number of people who do not even know they have it. People know less about the diabetes, the symptoms, so it does not recognize on time of their illness. Our program is early identification of the disease, self-care at home, teaching diet, group exercise and media appearances which will attract the attention of the society role. Main target groups: children and youth with diabetes and their families. Our board members since childhood type 1 diabetes with insulin and live a lot of experience and can serve as a good example. Special attention will be paid to older people and people who living alone, with low income, and to people who living in small villages and specially the Szala district of Eger with high Roma inhabitants.
The inclusion of the Roma population in our work, also helps their health protection, integration and mutual acceptance. Other target groups are people who suffering with hidden diabetes and those who have family history of diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure.
Everyone can have diabetes, so our programs want to submit these information for the whole society. Together for fighting against discrimination of people with diabetes, to protect our interests. The correct way of life not only for diabetes but also in many other diseases can be prevented, so our work is to help others.
